I got this plant from California Cactus Center around 2001. CCC just called it T. peruvianus, but it soon acquired the nickname T. peruvianus short spine and was spread widely under that name. It's now generally thought of as a form of T. pachanoi, but I'm sticking with the original name I got it as.

Trichocereus peruvianus short spine monstrose

I got these around 2001 from California Cactus Center in Southern California. Most people now consider this to be a form of T. pachanoi, but I like to stick with the old name of T. peruvianus short spine monstrose. As you can see on the column in the back, after several years quite long spines can develop on the old growth.
The plant is also capable of amazing cristate growth, as seen below. There's less than two years between when I first noticed the column turning cristate on 5/15/12 and when I took the selfie below on 4/25/14. That cristate column also grew from 2.5' to 6' over those two years!

Trichocereus pachanoi "Claude"

A true T. pachanoi that I've given the name "Claude". A beautiful plant.
Trichocereus pachanoi JS47
I got this around 2003 in a trade. It was labeled as a T. pachanoi seedling. I assume it was an open pollinated plant with the PC pachanoi as the mother, but who knows? As you can see, beautiful honey-amber spines on this one.

Trichocereus pachanoi "PC"

This is the T. pachanoi "Predominant Cultivar." This is the most commonly found variety of T. pachanoi in the US. It's become less appreciated lately, but I still think it's a great plant and certainly worthwhile to grow. Very tolerant of a wide variety of growing conditions.
$1 per inch.

T. pachanoi monstrose/cristate clone A. I got this plant from Sacred Succulents. Monstrose columns regularly go cristate for me, with crests reaching a foot wide in just a year.
Monstrose columns for $2.50 an inch. Crests occasionally available.
